Hi! My name is Marissa Scholler a native of San Antonio, TX and a recent graduate of James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. I majored in Media Arts and Design with a concentration in Converged Media (now called Interactive Design) and a Nonprofit Studies minor.

 

Growing up, I watched my brother develop a passion for photography, which inspired me to beg my parents for my own camera and learn from him. Needless to say, with a lot of resistance at first, my brother let me tag along and take photos with him. Today, I practice many of the techniques my brother instilled in me: to make a story of every photo and make everyone in front of my camera feel confident.  

 

When it comes to design, the people in my life both at JMU and back home in Texas, inspire me to be collaborative and open-minded. With these skills, I create meaningful work that exceeds expectations. I come from a mixed Mexican and German family where laughter and love abound in our house. This precious time spent with my family pushes me to explore my culture and journey, which has been manifested in my creations. I look forward to being challenged every day, and I am excited to create dynamic work that makes an impact.
